work created by 4 hands on the occasion of the Italian/French meeting of extemporaneous painting - Peinture en plein air in which the following artists participated: Davide Boriani, Julio Le Parc, Gianni Colombo, Francois Morellet, Gabriele Devecchi and Joel Stein
The rules required that the six artists, on 11, 12, 13 May 1971, paint the landscape of the garden of the Cenobio Gallery - Visuality, seen inside a cage that divided the panorama into 42 parts including sky, lawn and surrounding houses. The 42 oil paintings on canvas were made with a single pair of complementary colors (plus black and white) established by drawing lots.
A further draw established, every hour, starting from 12pm, which painting each Artist had to work on in the following hour.
On May 14, 1971, the 42 paintings created were exhibited inside the Gallery, in the same structure of the panoramic cage, to create a total vision of the garden landscape.
