work created by six artists on the occasion of the Italian/French extemporaneous painting meeting "Peinture en plein air" in which the following artists participated: Davide Boriani, Julio Le Parc, Gianni Colombo, Francois Morellet, Gabriele Devecchi and Joel Stein.
The rules stipulated that the six artists, on May 11, 12, and 13, 1971, would paint the landscape of the Cenobio Gallery - Visualità garden, viewed within a cage that divided the panorama into 42 sections, including sky, lawn, and surrounding houses. The 42 oil paintings on canvas were created with a single pair of complementary colors (plus black and white), determined by a draw.
A further draw established, every hour, starting at 12 noon, which painting each Artist had to work on in the following hour.
On May 14, 1971, the 42 paintings created were exhibited inside the Gallery, in the same structure as the panoramic cage, to create a complete view of the garden landscape.
